Valentine’s and Mother’s Day is around the corner and what’s always a great gift to give? A fragrance. Smelling good makes you feel good and can bring out different sides of your personality. To help you find the perfect gift for you or a loved one, I thought I’d share my top current favourite fragrances and why.
Starting with this beautiful perfume, Gabrielle by Chanel – This perfume features notes of intense jasmine, fruity ylang-ylang and fresh orange blossom. It makes you feel radiant and ready to conquer your day. I bought this after landing a new job to help make me feel confident and driven, much like Coco Chanel herself.
My second fragrance that’s also friendly for day time is this gorgeous Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose Eau de Toilette. Sambac jasmine and French lavender are mixed with neroli and rose to form a fragrance that feels incredibly pretty and feminine. It’s a perfect date fragrance.
Next up is Daisy Eau de Toilette by Marc Jacobs. This fragrance feels grown up but still girly. It has notes of wild berries, white violets, jasmine and sandalwood that make it vibrant, floral and warm all at the same time. It’s a beautifully romantic and delicate scent.
A little tip I learnt is to apply body lotion on your skin and then spray on your fragrance on top to make it last longer. I also like to spritz some around the collar of my top as it tends to linger better on clothes.
A new favourite of mine is the gorgeous Mon Guerlain Intense Eau de Parfum. This fragrance makes me feel like a mysterious, rich boss lady. It’s a woody, oriental fragrance with a beautiful blend of vanilla, lavender, sandalwood and patchouli. It’s not a delicate scent like my previous recommendations, this one is empowering and strong but very sensual too. I adore it and recommend it to all my girls.
Last but definitely not least, I want to give a shout out to my DKNY Be Delicious Eau de Parfum, who sadly just didn’t photograph well but is definitely one of my favourite fruity scents. This juicy fragrance combines the scent of an apple with a sophisticated blend of exotic flowers and sensual woods. It’s innocent and sexy at the same time, a great choice for Valentine’s Day.
So that wraps up my top 5 favourite fragrances that I think can be so universally loved. Mon Guerlain Intense is probably the most daring but sometimes, it’s nice to go out of your comfort zone and try something different. What are your favourite fragrances that make you feel good?
